6 questions for 6 years: Pete

HOME is a pretty special place to work. And we’re not just saying that ourselves – a hefty 45% of our Homies have been with us for 4 years or longer.

We wanted to chat to some of ’em to find out what it is about HOME that makes them stay. So, we’ve got a bunch of Homies lined up who have all been here for 6 years. And we’ve asked them – yep, you guessed it – 6 questions about their time at the agency.

This time, we’re catching up with Pete Grimes, our Senior Digital Media Manager…

What’s your role here at HOME?

I create and implement effective media strategies for our clients to help them achieve, and surpass, their business objectives.

How has your role developed since you first started?

My digital career started out at HOME as a Paid Media Executive, managing performance marketing campaigns and spending all of my time in Google Ads and Facebook Ads Manager. 6 years later I’m still focused on delivering results for our clients, but nowadays I work across paid search, paid social, video, native, programmatic and more, with most of my time being spent on data analysis and strategy.

How would you describe life at HOME?

It’s work that doesn’t feel like work.

What is it that’s made you stay for six years?

The people, the culture, the desire to grow and the amazing work we do.

What is your happiest memory of your time here?

Heading to the Performance Marketing Awards. We were nominated for ‘Best Travel & Leisure Campaign’, but were up against some very big brands and network agencies so we didn’t expect to win at all. My happiest memory is the look of surprise on the team’s faces when we were called out as winners. It was a great moment and one I’ll never forget.

And what is something that’s challenged you since you’ve been here?

A constant challenge is keeping up with the ever-changing media landscape. Digital platforms are always releasing new features and capabilities that we need to stay on top of and there are new players entering the market on a daily basis. Not to mention people are consuming media in increasingly fragmented ways. Chuck in data and privacy regulations and it turns into a minefield! Fortunately, it’s a challenge that I enjoy.
