6 questions for 6 years: Andrew

HOME is a pretty special place to work. And we’re not just saying that ourselves – a hefty 45% of our Homies have been with us for 4 years or longer.

We wanted to chat to some of ’em to find out what it is about HOME that makes them stay. So, we’ve got a bunch of Homies lined up who have all been here for 6 years. And we’ve asked them – yep, you guessed it – 6 questions about their time at the agency.

This week we’ve been chatting to Andrew Barber, our Digital Media Account Director.

What’s your role here at HOME?

I’m a Digital Media Account Director, so it’s my job to ensure that clients’ performance continues to grow across digital media and to help the team implement strategies to facilitate that. I also ensure that the team have the resource they need in order to conduct their day-to-day tasks.

How has your role developed since you first started?

As HOME has grown, I’ve grown with it. I originally started as a Digital Media Manager, implementing strategies and campaigns for the larger clients in the team; whereas now I’m more involved with solving problems and providing development opportunities for the wider department.

How would you describe life at HOME?

Varied. No two days are the same at HOME, due to the huge variety of clients and verticals that we work across, meetings spanning multiple disciplines; and not forgetting the random days and events that THHOR (AKA The HOME House of Representatives) organise for us!

What is it that’s made you stay for six years?

The people and the culture, it’s that simple! Plus, the views over to the Pennines from my desk every day are pretty special.

And what is something that’s challenged you since you’ve been here?

HOME is constantly growing, so keeping apace with all the developments within the agency can be a challenge!

What would you say to people wanting to work here/new starters?

Apply! There’s such a wealth of knowledge across the agency you’re guaranteed to learn something new and develop your own skillset.
