Last week was our annual summer party, Home Fest, where we gather together for a night of music, fun, and a tipple or two (or ten). This year, we ventured to The Faversham and turned it into Homie central, for a sunny fiesta themed bash – Home Fiesta, if you will.

At 4pm we downed tools, piled onto the awaiting coaches, and trundled to the venue, which was decked out with garlands and pom poms aplenty. Upon arrival, we were subject to treated to a tequila shot, courtesy of Alice, our Copywriter-turned-Mexican-bandit. We were hoping the moustache would be there to stay, but she’s back in the office clean-shaven this week.

As we ventured across the sun-soaked courtyard towards the mojito bar, the air was filled with the upbeat toots of a jaunty mariachi band, who much to our amusement, proceeded to serenade our suitably awkward Head of Data, Steve.

Speaking of bands, did you know what a musical bunch we are? Our fellow Homies put on a pretty awesome show for us, starting with ‘The Homanies’, a new trio formed especially for the event, who had a chilled-out acoustic set, including a rendition of Send Me On My Way – Rusted Root.

This was followed by the much-anticipated return of ‘Los Homie Bana’, AKA, the official Homie band. This was their fifth time headlining Home Fest, and they belted out corkers including Moving To New York – The Wombats, and I Predict A Riot – Kaiser Chiefs, which kept us stuck to the dancefloor.

With all that boogieing (and not to mention the two inflatables and the piñatas we had previously worn ourselves out with!) we were thankful for some grub. Enter, DIY taco and churro station 😍

As the sun began to fade, we had three back-to-back DJ sets from the hip-n-happening Paulo, Pete Melba and Andy C to get us through to the end of the night. Here’s to another crackin’ Home Fest!
